I saw an updated, but familiar face in some recent McDonalds ads. The Hamburglar is back!
He has an updated look. Many of the kids who first saw him a generation ago are now parents themselves and making the dining purchase decisions for their families. From a marketing perspective this tactic both attracts attention from new “purchase influencers” (the kids) while tapping into consistency, brand familiarity, fun and positive memories of the ultimate decision makers (parents).
