Start Planning Now To Ensure Your Fall 2018 Island Exhibit Succeeds

If you have already booked an island booth space for a September 2018 trade show, that may seem like a long time from now, if you are reading this in the Spring of 2018.  Don’t be deceived, it’s actually a lot closer than you think!

I am asking you to not wait until July to start planning for your early Fall show.  You’re designing and constructing a considerable structure, not a banner stand, so it takes a lot more time to get it all done right and on budget.

Here are the reasons we find island exhibitors delaying planning their fall exhibits:

  • Burnout: Exhibitors have been going full-tilt through the Spring 2018 busy season, so they want to take some time off before focusing on their Fall 2018 shows.
  • The Fall seems so far away.  Yes, there is much of the spring and summer to go, but September is not that far from now, it just sounds farther when you lump it in with the later Fall months.
  • Summer vacations: People think summer is slow time, so there will be no problem getting the work completed.  However, summer is also major vacation time! That means key people at your company and ours can be out for a week or two – and then another person leaves for their vacation – which exacerbates the consequences of delay.
  • Shortened expectations: Marketing campaign timeframe expectations have shortened with more digital marketing. Yet, a large island exhibit is a tangible, physical property that still takes time to schedule, discuss, brainstorm, design, tweak, choose, order, build, ship, and set up.

Okay, enough understanding why exhibitors delay getting started on their early fall shows.  What will motivate you to get going now?  Consider the significant hidden costs of not starting your planning now:

  • Delay costs money: When you delay getting started on your Fall island exhibit, you end up incurring rush charges on exhibit production and higher shipping fees to get the booth delivered last minute. Case in point, we had an exhibitor walk into our facility last week wanting a rush exhibit built with a shortened timeframe that ended up costing thousands of dollars extra in shipping.
  • Delay sabotages marketing results: Without the time to research, brainstorm, and execute a cohesive trade show marketing campaign, your presence will be less impactful with fewer integrated promotions to drive traffic and awareness. We want you to have the best experience at your shows.  Give us the time to deliver a design solution you can build a campaign around that rocks your trade show world.
  • Delay stresses everyone out: While we love drama when we stream it on Netflix, unnecessary drama stresses your own people and ours.  Event coordinators have the 5th most stressful job in America – and that becomes even more stressful with a shortened timeframe to execute a high-profile large island exhibit.

Please, I am begging you, start now.  Not in May, not in June, and really, really, not in July.  Call us now to get our kick-off meeting on the calendar.

Yes, thanks to our team and our modular exhibits, we have the amazing ability to pull together great designs in a shorter time frame.  But you can save serious money, noticeably boost marketing results, and make your life easier by starting sooner, not later. Let’s get going right away on that major project, so we can give us both a far better chance to succeed.
