Why BC-Based Exhibitors with One Big Show Per Year Should Explore Renting Their Display

Sometimes our Vancouver exhibiting clients feel stuck with limited exhibit design choices, not realizing they have more options then they thought possible.  This is especially true with their largest trade show booth.

It’s surprisingly common to be discussing a client’s upcoming trade show schedule and discover that while they exhibit at many shows, they exhibit in a large booth space only once.  Unfortunately, these exhibitors think they must buy that one big exhibit, and that it will determine what happens with their smaller exhibit that they use at the rest of their shows.

What Exhibit Rental Can Do Now

What they didn’t know, was that they could simply rent their largest exhibit, and then buy the smaller display. And if they did know they could rent for their largest show, they had discarded that as a choice, because they had a poor (but inaccurate) perception of rental exhibits.

I’ll explain this with an example.  Recently I spoke with a potential client about their 2017 and 2018 trade show schedule.  They have 6 shows where they will be taking a 10 x 20 space – and one show with a 20 x 30 island booth.  They were frustrated because they thought they had to buy that 20 x 30, and then there went their budget, limiting what they could do with their 10 x 20 shows.

I explained how they could rent their 20 x 30, and that this island exhibit would be exactly what they wanted, because, unlike traditional custom houses, we didn’t rent what leftover islands we had in the back room.  Skyline designs the right exhibit for an exhibitor’s specific needs, and then, they can either buy it or rent it, as we have a huge rental inventory of component parts.

This option was a new paradigm for this exhibitor, and a game changer for what they could do to best represent their brand at all their shows, and give them more flexibility this year, and next.

Even better, their largest booth space will be in Las Vegas, where Skyline has a huge inventory of rentable exhibit components, so we can design the exhibit here in Vancouver, yet deliver the large rental exhibit in Las Vegas – saving untold thousands on shipping and customs hassles.

Renting Because of Uncertainty

Another reason exhibitors like to rent the booth for their one large annual show is because they don’t know if they will be returning the next year.  By renting this year, they don’t have to commit the capital for an exhibit that may no longer be necessary for them in 12 months.

I recognize that this situation – one large island exhibit, many inline space shows – isn’t faced by everyone.  But if this is your situation, I hope you are better informed about the wider field of options available to you, thanks to exhibit rental.
